Abstract: Myopia is one of the most common eye diseases with an increasing incidence in recent years. All over the world, effective treatments for myopia are being explored. In recent years, the research on drugs for treating myopia has been a hot spot in ophthalmology, and some achievements have been made. Compared with surgical treatment, drug treatment is obviously easier to be accepted by people. Although the efficacy of some drugs in delaying the development of myopia has been affirmed, the mechanism and site of action of some drugs are still not completely clear. In this paper, we reviewed the related research of drug therapy for myopia at home and abroad in recent years, described the mechanism of various drugs in treating myopia, evaluated their clinical application value, and pointed out the existing problems. These drugs for myopia include atropine and a series of anticholinergic drugs, as well as dopamine agonist, 7- methylxanthine and intraocular pressure lowering drugs.
