Abstract: With the increasing societal demand for health and the rapid advancements in imaging technologies, such as MRI, the detection rate of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors in the population has significantly increased. These tumors have now become the second most common type of intracranial neoplasm, representing approximately 15% of all cases, with an incidence rate ranging from 8.2% to 14.7% within the general population. Surgical resection remains the preferred treatment modality for pituitary neuroendocrine tumors, excluding prolactinomas. The primary goals of surgical intervention include the removal of the tumor mass to alleviate clinical symptoms arising from prolonged compression of adjacent structures, preservation of normal pituitary function, correction of endocrine dysfunction, and precise histopathological characterization of the tumor. This article aims to discuss the advancements in the research of pituitary and pituitary tumor membranous anatomy as well as surgical approaches for pituitary adenomas. It seeks to better integrate the anatomical understanding of the pituitary and pituitary tumors with surgical practice to enhance neurosurgeons comprehension of existing surgical methods for pituitary adenomas, thereby providing greater benefits to patients. Keywords: Pituitary Neuroendocrine Tumors;Sellar Membranous Structures;Pseudocapsule;Neuroendoscopy;Surgical Approach
