Abstract: Sepsis-associated encephalopathy is one of the controversial topics in the Department of Neonatal Critical Care Medicine. Neonatal doctors are challenging in how to identify sepsis with brain dysfunction. Due to the physiological limitations of newborns, there are no typical clinical symptoms and signs in the early stage, no specific biomarkers, and no specific imaging changes, so it is difficult to make a clear diagnosis of SAE in the early stage, resulting in irreversible changes. Multi-modal monitoring refers to the collection of information of different modes and the expression of unified results in the research process, which is the latest intelligent evaluation method for newborns. Therefore, this article reviews a variety of monitoring methods in SAE diagnosis in recent years to improve the level of SAE diagnosis and improve the prognosis.
