Research on Blended Teaching Practice of Information Literacy Based on Community of Inquiry

    Abstract: Corresponding author:LIU Hai-xia#$NL:To explore the effects of blended teaching mode based on Community of Inquiry(CoI) in information literacy instruction.3 classes of Clinical Medicine students of grade 2017 from Hainan Medical University, were randomly divided into blended teaching group (n=60), face-to-face(F2F) teaching group (n=60) and online teaching group (n=60).The Classroom teaching and living lectures teaching method were applied in F2F group and online group respectively, the blended teaching mode based on CoI was applied in blended group.The examination, CoI Scale Chinese Version, Teaching Satisfaction Scale and students interview were used to evaluate the effects.The results showed that the performance and COI scores of the blended teaching group were higher than the F2F teaching group and online teaching group, and the students satisfaction in blended teaching group was high (Mean≥4.25). The COI based information literacy blended teaching can improve the learning effect and make students get a good learning experience,it is worth being promoted in blended teaching of information literacy.
