Abstract: Abstract: 【Objective】This study investigates the correlation between self-injurious and suicidal behavior in adolescents with depressive disorder and their non-enzymatic antioxidants and thyroid hormones.【Methods】A total of 93 adolescent patients with depressive disorder who were hospitalized at the Qingdao Mental Health Center from August 2023 to May 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into three groups: a group without either self-injurious or suicidal behavior ,a group with self-injurious behavior and a group with suicidal behavior. Levels of serum albumin (ALB), total bilirubin (TBIL), uric acid (UA), free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) were measured at admission and again after two weeks of treatment. Clinical symptoms were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA). Compare the differences in the levels of the above clinical indicators. 【Results】Compared with the depression group, baseline UA levels were lower in both the self-injurious and suicidal behavior groups (P=0.039, P=0.010). After 8 weeks of treatment, FT3 levels were higher in the self-injurious group than in the suicidal behavior group (P=0.040), and both HAMD and HAMA scores decreased in all patients(F=3.827, P=0.025; F=3.414, P=0.040). After correction, there were no statistically significant differences in HAMD scores among all groups (P>0.05), while HAMA scores were higher in the suicidal behavior group than in the depression group (P=0.047). Compared to baseline levels, TSH levels increased(t=-2.038, P=0.050;t=-2.407, P=0.023; t=-2.278, P=0.030) and HAMD and HAMA scores decreased in all groups after treatment (P < 0.001). In the suicidal behavior group, TBIL and FT3 levels decreased, and UA levels increased after treatment (t=2.135, P=0.041; t=2.876, P=0.007; t=-2.671, P=0.012), while in the depression group, FT4 levels decreased after treatment (t=2.708, P=0.011).【Conclusions】Non-enzymatic antioxidants may serve as potential biological markers for adolescents with depressive disorder who exhibit self-injurious and suicidal behavior.
